How We Generated 86 Leads in One Month for a Car Dealership.

Right before the Coronavirus Pandemic hit, we were working with the car dealership Courtesy Chrysler Jeep, based in Coatesville, PA, to generate more car sales & service leads for them with Facebook & Google Ads.

The Problem

At the time of our doing business with Courtesy, they were struggling greatly with generating local results from their Facebook & Google advertising campaigns.

They were using campaigns that were created simply for generating traffic to increase the number of leads they were generating per month instead of using lead generation-focused campaigns and ad copy.

While generating traffic for your website is important, Courtesy’s goal was lead generation, not traffic. They wanted their salesmen making calls and following up with potential buyers more often than they already were.

They told us they wanted to start with two Facebook Ads campaigns:

  • One campaign to generate car sales leads for those interested in purchasing a new car;

  • One campaign for generating pre-owned car sales leads.

The Solution

We wrote and deployed advertising copy that focused on the following:

  • Active voice verbs & concrete nouns;

  • Offers & strong calls-to-action;

  • Visual creative (both single-image & carousel) that grabs attention.

By the time our 30-day Facebook advertising campaign had ended (January 1 to 31, 2020), we had generated the following results:

Results included:

  • A total of 50 car sales leads were generated at an average cost per lead of about $11;

  • 27 leads generated for the new car sales campaign ($9.07 each);

  • 23 leads generated for the pre-owned car sales campaign ($13.50 each).

Each campaign spent no more than $10 a day with a “Lowest Cost” bidding strategy.

Google Ads Campaign Data

The client also requested we draft and manage a Google Ads advertising campaign focused on generating leads.

The client wanted to accomplish three things:

  • Target branded search traffic;

  • Generate more leads for jeep sales;

  • Generate more leads for used car sales.

We created three, highly targeted ad groups as a result. Each ad group only bid on keywords relevant to its overall theme so no money was wasted on irrelevant search terms:
